What goes on the invoice
- Your hourly rate, stated once and clearly
- The hours worked, by task or by day
- The period the invoice covers
- Any expenses, listed separately from time
- Total hours, total amount and the due date
- How to pay you
The free invoice maker puts these in the right places, adds up the totals for you and downloads a clean PDF. No sign-up needed.
Three things worth getting right.
Break hours down
List tasks with their hours rather than a single total. Clients question lump sums and accept detail.
Use decimals
Write 12.5 hours rather than 12 hours 30 minutes. It multiplies cleanly by your rate.
Invoice on a schedule
Weekly or fortnightly is easier for the client than a huge invoice at the end of the month.
