What goes on the invoice
- The words “Tax invoice” if you are GST registered, with your GST number
- Your name or trading name and contact details
- Invoice date and a unique number
- A description of what you supplied, with quantity and price
- The GST amount or a statement that the total includes GST
- Due date and bank account details
The free invoice maker puts these in the right places, adds up the totals for you and downloads a clean PDF. No sign-up needed.
Three things worth getting right.
Put your GST number on it
If you are registered, show your GST number so business clients can claim the GST back.
State whether prices include GST
Say clearly if the total is GST inclusive. It prevents arguments when a client expects a different amount.
Send it promptly
Invoice as soon as the work is done. Prompt invoices are paid sooner.
