What goes on the invoice
- Your name or business name, address, email and phone
- Invoice number and date
- The client’s name and billing address
- A description of each service with quantity and rate
- Sales tax, if it applies to what you sold
- Payment terms such as Net 15 or Net 30, and how to pay (ACH, card, PayPal, check)
The free invoice maker puts these in the right places, adds up the totals for you and downloads a clean PDF. No sign-up needed.
Three things worth getting right.
Use clear payment terms
“Net 30” means the client has 30 days. Shorter terms such as Net 15 help your cash flow, especially on smaller jobs.
Know when sales tax applies
Most services are not taxed, but rules vary by state and by what you sell. Check your state’s rules before adding it.
Make paying easy
Offer ACH or a payment link. The fewer steps to pay, the sooner you are paid.
